alleluia!

A few days late, but still - Happy Easter! We had a great day, which went a little something like this: churchchurchchurchchurchwowthat'salotofpeoplechurch followed by dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's. Maren made it through the whole day without spitting up on, peeing on, or otherwise "adding to the beauty of" her dress, which was nice.

We started with a few Easter egg hunts the day before:

Hanging with Aunt Ami at Easter egg hunt #1...

...and discovering that plastic Easter eggs are pretty tasty, at hunt #2

The only thing that tastes better than a plastic Easter egg? This book.

Easter joy, from our house to yours!

maren and the sippy cup

Today's big adventure: Maren tries the sippy cup for the first time. Which went a little something like this:

Well. What have we here?

Looks like a bottle, sort of. But not really.

First, smile for the camera. Good grief, my parents take a lot of pictures.

Okay. What do I do with this again?

Maybe I don't like it.

Oh. I should put it in my mouth? Why didn't you just say so?

First it requires a close examination.

Hello, sippy cup.

S-l-o-w-l-y up to my mouth...

Contact!

Mmmmm....water.

It lasted for about a minute and a half, but that wasn't too bad.

In other news, Maren also went outside today. For more than thirty seconds. And not to get in the car. Because it was sunny! In Seattle! Finally!

It turns out that Go Dog, Go is a delicious book.

Happy Easter!

California Girl

For Maren's first Spring Break, she went to California! Accompanied by her parents. And everyone had a great time: thanks so much to our wonderful family and friends for the welcome. A few highlights:

With Uncle Gary, Aunt Gail, and cousin Justin

Hanging out with Uncle Eric

Meeting Aunt Melody...

...and cousin Sheila (and a lot more family too, at the party!)

Relaxing with Aunt Virginia

Teething time with Uncle Jim

So close to rolling over...

What? Oranges grow on trees? I thought they came from the grocery store. Huh.

Carseat naps

A break for tickle time with Dad

Helping Dad read the map

Is this carrier thing a good idea? I have my doubts.
