It's been a busy few weeks! Maren is nearly crawling - she gets up on her hands and knees, rocks back and forth, and then goes promptly (and quickly) backward. Oh, well. Some of her latest adventures:

firecracker!

Maren had a great fourth of July - well, until the firecrackers. That was not so great. But more on that later.

We went to our town's parade...

...where we got to see cousin Sofia! (And her parents.)

We enjoyed the sunshine (with lots of sunscreen, don't worry.)

And a patriotic rice cracker.

Then we went home and hung out in the shade.

And looked cute.

Until somebody spit up on the cute outfit and also we discovered it was coated in rice cracker bits, but oh well - it was fun while it lasted.

Unfortunately, the massive fireworks show in our neighborhood woke Maren up several times last night. That part was not the highlight of the day, but otherwise - hey, it was sunny, and fun, and we got to hang out together. Not too bad.

It's finally summer! At least for a day.

Maren has been unusually fussy lately, which we attributed to teething - and that turns out to be true, since she's gotten three teeth since June 7. Yesterday, she was pretty unhappy and we noticed that her other front tooth was coming in, so we figured that was the source of her unhappiness. Lo and behold, she got two teeth in one day. From zero to five teeth in three weeks - not bad.

Since the sun was out yesterday, we soaked it in and had a great time at cousin Sofia's extra-cool alligator pool. Maren enjoyed the water (after a brief moment of panic).

Dad is home from school now, so Maren gets to hang out with him a lot. She thinks her dad is hilarious, especially when he tickles her.
