But, the weather has finally turned nice here (at least for a few days), so we've been one of Maren's favorite places: OUTSIDE! She says it with deep glee every time we mention the possibility: "aatside! aatside! AATSIDE!" Her daycare teachers say that most of the kids in her class like going outside, but for Maren it's a life-altering experience, every time.
While outside, she likes to do one or more of the following activities:
- dig in the dirt
- move dirt from one location to another (usually with a fair amount of dirt loss between locations)
- scoop gravel into the lettuce bed
- try to climb up the concrete steps
- scoop leaves out of the water feature (don't worry, she is closely supervised near water)
- run
- run more
- and then more running
- "help" hang up the clothes on the clothesline
- take note of any airplanes, large bugs, or clouds
- blow bubbles
- chase bubbles
- eat (this is appropriate in all locations, but outside is the best)
And, she loves to play a little basketball (or help, anyway) and go down the slide.
